Murdo joined Cameron Partners as a founding Partner in 1995 and was our Managing Partner from 2008-2023.

Murdo retired from the partnership effective 31 March 2023. He continues in the role of Advisor, looking after a handful of key clients and assisting on selected mandates.

 

Murdo has led many large and complex mandates and his experience covers the full spectrum of M&A, restructuring and advisory engagements. Murdo has worked on several transactions in regulated industries and utilities and also where the Government was a counterparty.

 

Prior to joining Cameron Partners, Murdo’s experience included time as Head of Business Development at Telecom New Zealand (now Spark), as a senior member in the investment banking group at Fay Richwhite & Company; and as an investment manager at Tower Insurance. He started his career in the Treasury, and his time there included two years as Executive Advisor in the office of Hon Roger Douglas, Minister of Finance.  Murdo has an MSoSc with First Class Honours from the University of Waikato.

 

Outside work his interests include reading widely, golf and messing around with old cars.
